today's idea...

Screened-In Patio

The bugs can be ruthless here, especially at night.  We sleep under a mosquito net, so it only made sense to try rigging one up outside on our porch to create a screened-in patio of sorts.  Just like those fancy ones in Florida…

  1. I love this idea! Mark and I were just talking about doing something similar down by the pool. We are going to get a table with an umbrella and sew one of our mosquito nets to the umbrella.

  2. can you make one for me and send it to FL? We don’t have a screened in porch…and we REALLY need one. 🙂

  3. I made an honest to goodness canopy bed out of bamboo and a hundred yards of wedding tool – the fabric used to make veils (looks like mosquito netting) when we lived in Thailand. Fabric was really cheap! We situated our bed near the only air conditioner in the house ( a leaky wooden old Thai-style house on stilts) and we closed ourselves in each night for a romantic bug free getaway.
